Training & Seminars
Training for Supervisors and Managers
In addition to the regular seminars we provide for management and human resources personnel (see below), Brigden & Petajan's attorneys provide customized training for your supervisors and managers.
Supervisors are employers' first line of exposure – and potential liability – in many areas involving discrimination, workplace harassment, effective discipline, retaliation and union organizing. It is essential that supervisors and managers understand what is required of them in order to be effective as the employer's front-line defenders.
Our attorneys have decades of experience not only handling and responding to claims by employees, but also training staff members in how to respond to such claims. We will work with you to evaluate what your staff needs to know and how best to provide that information to your employees to maximize the training benefit to your organization. We then will custom-design a training program for your staff and your needs, incorporating applicable company policies and tailoring it to the experience and knowledge level of each audience.

Brigden & Petajan, S.C.'s Seminars for Employers
As the "employers lawyers" we believe that educating employers on relevant and timely legal issues is central to quality legal representation. To help you keep abreast of the latest developments and to help serve the business community of Wisconsin, we conduct seminars twice annually around the state to educate management about changes in the law and the most significant issues affecting employers.
In 1986 Brigden & Petajan, S.C. pioneered sponsoring its own independent labor/employment law programs, designed, prepared and presented by Brigden & Petajan attorneys exclusively for employers. Twenty years and thousands of attendees later, we continue to offer annual one-day Update programs each spring, as well as fall programs that alternate annually between two day programs covering all the legal basics related to employment, and half-day programs dedicated to a single significant workplace issue.
Our experienced attorneys present the seminars and are available for questions during and after the programs. In addition, each participant receives a detailed outline and comprehensive materials, providing an ongoing reference resource.
Update Program
Every spring, we present our annual Update program, which summarizes significant changes in the laws affecting employment and labor issues over the previous year. Caselaw developments, new legislation, regulation revisions -- all are explored and explained.
